Mathematical instruments

Mathematical drawing instruments from the collection of Professor Ebenezer Strong Snell (1801-1876), member of the first graduating class at Amherst College in 1822 and Professor of Mathematics and Natural Philosophy from 1827 to 1876. The rulers, compasses, square and other instruments are variously crafted from brass, wood and ivory, and are of mostly European manufacture. Amherst College Archives and Special Collections.
