In the 1860 census, brothers Charles W. (b. 1824) and Joseph F. (b. 1828) Hodges resided in the same house along with Charles' wife Mary and their year-old son Charles Jr. The two brothers claimed a personal estate worth $3500, divided evenly. In 1870, Joseph had become Foxboro's Postmaster with real and personal estates valued at $4500. He had married and had a year-old son. Charles' household had grown to seven, with children ranging from 2 to 11. His property was valued at $6000. |
