The Western Massachusetts towns of Dana, Enfield, Greenwich, Prescott, and North Dana were abolished in 1938 to allow the Swift River Valley to be flooded, thereby creating the Quabbin Reservoir to provide Boston with water.
Five maps prepared by the Massachusetts Metropolitan District Water Supply Commission of the anticipated site of the Quabbin Reservoir, some with hand-written notes. Also one showing the route of Boston's water supply.
The collection is open for research.
