Final, edited transcripts are open for research with the following exceptions:
For partially restricted interviews, restricted pages have been removed from the public version of the transcripts. Electronic copies of open transcripts are available. All original transcripts are closed. The audio recordings for unrestricted interviews are available for research, but all quotes for publication must be drawn from the final, edited transcriptions. Audio recordings with restricted portions are closed. All original audio cassette tapes are closed; copies must be requested for research use. Restrictions on use:
All narrators retain copyright to their interviews during their lifetimes and must give written permission for the reproduction of any portion of tapes or transcriptions during their lifetimes. Permission must also be obtained from the Sophia Smith Collection as owners of the physical property. Preferred Citation
