The papers include diaries, notes, correspondence, biographical articles, writings, printed material, photographs and research material. Much of the collection is comprised of field notes, photographs and somatotypes taken in the village of Pere in Papua New Guinea, where Roll worked with Margaret Mead, 1966 and 1975. Copies of Margaret Mead's diaries are included. There is extensive correspondence, and an oral history, done 1989-91.
