Religious organizations; Feminist advocacy organization. Records consist of administrative records dating from the organization's inception in 1983, and includes extensive documentation of WATER programs in Latin America and in the U.S., its fundraising and outreach initiatives, its publications, and audiovisual records of its program speakers. The organization's commitment to justice and social activism through a feminist interpretation of theology, and its commitment to promoting women's full inclusion and participation in ecclesiastical ritual and hierarchy is also well documented.
