The papers are open to research according to the regulations of the Sophia Smith Collection, with the following exceptions: Researchers must agree not to identify any clients represented by Mary Kaufman who are still living without their written permission. The file on Grossman v. Joan Baez is closed until Baez's death. Restrictions on use:
Michael Kaufman retains copyright ownership for unpublished works of Mary Kaufman. Copyright to materials authored by others may be owned by those individuals or their heirs or assigns. It is the responsibility of the researcher to identify and satisfy the holders of all copyrights.
