For further information see the photographs in the Helen Jeanette Peirce collection in the faculty records of the Smith College Archives. Peirce was an instructor for Smith students studying in Spain, 1934-1935, and Marshall is present in some of the photographs.
See also the oral history collection in the archives of the Ford Foundation in New York, NY. Included are transcripts from a series of interviews conducted from 1975-1986 with staff, administrators, and trustees of the foundation, including Marshall.
Records of Marshall's involvement with the Alden Seminars are also available in the records of the President's Office at the Smith College Archives (Office of the President-Jill Ker Conway Files-Non-Smith Organizations-Alden Seminars, Smith College Archives). The published reports of the Alden Seminars were issued as "White Papers" by the University of Massachusetts at Boston in cooperation with Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Massachusetts from 1981-1989. These reports contain more information about the Alden Seminar program's inception and mission, as well as detail about its evolution and conclusions.
