The Two-Unit Plan began admitting students to Mount Holyoke College in the fall of 1935. The program was designed to give exceptional students the opportunity to pursue a desired field of study at the commencement of college. Although students enrolled in the Two-Unit Plan lived together in an exclusive dormitory, they interacted with traditional students, serving on extracurricular committees.
The records include newspaper clippings, brochures, magazine articles, and reports to the president. Information on participants and their concentrations, faculty evaluations of the program, and future plans are all included.
