The Reading and Study Clinic at Mount Holyoke College began in 1947 with the purpose of improving the reading skills of high school and college students. Although some Mount Holyoke students attended, participants came from across the Northeast. Many World War II veterans attended as well.
The records include correspondence, advertisements, newspaper clippings, reports, press releases, and photographs (1947-54). Little information on techniques used at the Clinic is present. Most information is regarding the apparent success of the program.
