The Writing Center was founded in 1982 after a committee on literacy recognized the need to assist incoming and current students with the development of writing skills.
The records of the Writing Center contain memos, clippings, and informational fliers. There are also annual reports from 1989-1991, which include information on the numbers of students using the center, student workers, and programs conducted in conjunction with the English Department.
