Historical Note
Named after Dr. Frederick May Eliot, Eliot House was dedicated in May, 1961, as a student and faculty cooperative effort run by volunteers from the Fellowship of Faiths, a student run organization. In 1984, the Eliot House Council was abandoned. It has been replaced in preceding years with the Community Service Volunteer Program and the Interfaith Council. Eliot House holds the offices of the college chaplains and rabbi, the Coffee Grinds--a student run coffee house, the Kosher-Hallal Kitchen, and Wa-Shin-Au, the Japanese Meditation Garden. It is a center for religious and social organizations on campus and volunteer coordinating. |
