| Historical Note The Office of Affirmative Action was established in 1988 with the appointment of an Affirmative Action Officer within the Office of the Secretary of the College. From 1990-1993, a separate Office of Affirmative Action/Ombudsperson dealt with issues of diversity and discrimination on campus. In 1993, the Office of Affirmative Action was further separated from the Office of the Ombudsperson. The Office of Affirmative Action works with College representatives and committees to outline affirmative action goals, policies and procedures, while the Office of the Ombudsperson mainly deals with conflict resolution involving discrimination and harassment. |
