The papers of Wendy Wasserstein (1950-2006) span the years 1967 to 2005 and include writings, programs and publicity materials, correspondence, recordings, journals, student papers, photographs, appointment and address books. The Writings form the bulk of the collection and include drafts and edited copies of more than thirty major and minor works, both published and unpublished, including: Antonia and Jane, Any Woman Can't, At Miss Judy's School of Dance, Bachelor Girl, Comedy Zone, Dear Friend, Dear Yesterday, Guardian, Happy Birthday Montpelier Pa-Zazz, The Heidi Chronicles, How to Marry a Millionaire part two, Isn't it Romantic, King and I: Memoirs of the Soap Opera Process, Kiss Kiss Dahling, Maids in America, Man in a Case, Miami, Mutz, Nutcracker, The Object of My Affection-Survival Guide, Pamela's First Musical, Paying Up, Refugee, Refugee, Sam Found Out (Queen of Mabababwe), Sisters Rosensweig, The Sorrows of Gin, Tender Offer, Together, Triple Plays, Uncommon Women, When Dinah Shore Ruled the Earth, White Chicks and three operas: The Merry Widow (libretto), The Festival of Regrets, and Central Park Opera. The Writings also include articles, essays, reviews and speeches. Programs and Publicity Materials consist primarily of reviews, articles and visual materials relating to the writings. The Correspondence (1968-2000) chiefly concerns her work and speaking engagements and also contains greeting cards, cards and telegrams. Included in the Recordings are audio cassette recordings of performances of plays, including original Broadway cast recordings. The Journals include a travel journal (July-August 1967) documenting travels through Austria, Germany, Yugoslavia, Italy, Switzerland, France and Belgium, and a journal (August-October, December 1993.) The Student Papers are comprised of grade school notebooks and undergraduate school papers. The collection is rounded out with Photographs as well as Appointment and Address Books.
