Abstract:
Western Female Seminary, Oxford, Ohio, predecessor to Western College for Women, founded in 1853 by Rev. and Mrs. Daniel Tenney. It's first principal was Helen Peabody, one of Mary Lyon's students. Records consist primarily of notebooks, catalogs, publications, clippings, and photographs (1863-1973) with particular focus on the period 1877-1880.
