Barbara Mettler, dancer, dance educator, author, and film and video producer, developed her own style of modern dance which emphasized improvisation. The collection documents the activities of Mettler's professional life of over sixty years, including records of Mettler Studios and the Tucson Creative Dance Center. It contains extensive documentation of Mettler's teaching, including records of courses and workshops, published books and articles, and photographs, films and videotapes.
