Correspondents include Maria De Barrill, David Belasco, Henrietta Campbell, Katharine Cornell, Augustin Daly, Lillian Gish, Emma Goldman, Eva Le Gallienne, Sarah Cowell Le Moyne, Tyrone Power, Mary Shaw and Lee Shubert. Several letters included in the collection are addressed to Clyde Fitch and others.

The papers consist of one series of correspondence, arranged alphabetically by correspondent's name. In the folder list, all items are understood to be addressed to Benjamin Butler Davenport unless stated otherwise.
