The Amherst College Oral History Project was an initiative of the Public Relations Department of the College in the late 1970s. Horace W. Hewlett, Director of Public Relations of the College from 1947 to 1958 and Secretary of the College and Director of Publications from 1958 to 1977, conducted all thirty-one of the interviews. Each of the interviews appears in print format in this collection.
