The collection consists of research notes, audio and video recordings (including some transcripts), photographs, articles and other materials documenting the scholarly work of Ivor L. Miller in cultural studies on graffiti "writers" (for his 2002 book Aerosol Kingdom: Subway Painters of New York City), and the cultural relationships of West Africa and its Diaspora in the Americas, particularly Cuba. Especially significant is a collection of over 200 LP music recordings produced in Cuba and largely unavailable elsewhere.
