Scope and Contents of the Collection
The Reginald French Papers consist mainly of French's notes relating to his dissertation (Harvard University, Department of Romance Languages, 1933), "Francesco d'Antonio da Fiorenza, Cieco." A copy of this thesis is also included. Most of the notes seem to date from later in French's career, especially the 1960s and 1970s. Included with the notes are documents and other materials relating to the courses he taught in the department of Romance Languages at Amherst College. The papers also contain a small number of reprints and essay manuscripts, along with some miscellaneous photographs, newspaper clippings, greeting cards and correspondence. This collection is organized into four series: |
